Our history

2016 - PRESENT

All these (strategic) acquisitions and the vast knowledge and experience gained in more than 50 years, means that Machinefabriek Van Rijn is now able to devise, manufacture and service single and total transport and packaging solutions. In recent years, Van Rijn has specialized in a range of conveyor systems and complete processing lines for filling and closing buckets, cans, jerrycans and trays. Our service and maintenance team has been further expanded and professionalized with the appointment of our service manager who can focus on this completely.

2006 - 2016

2006 is the year in which Van Rijn was acquired by Cris Klaris and Huig Remmelzwaal, Van Rijn employees. Cris and Huig both have a mechanical engineering background and each bring their own niche expertise to the company. Cris brought extensive process industry experience combined with machine development and building expertise. Huig brought in production experience. This means that Van Rijn has anchored the knowledge and expertise required for this special industry from the shop floor to the boardroom.

1989 - 2006

In 1989 the company was taken over by Revee. This strategic acquisition was the first step towards offering solutions for packaging processes. Van Rijn integrates the packaging process and provides its clients with total solutions for filling and sealing buckets.

1979 - 1989

In 1979, Mr. Van Rijn sold his company to Siersema. At the time, Siersema had engineering factories in Wassenaar and Den Bosch, and later also in Waalwijk, Boxmeer, Valkenburg, Heerenveen, and Belgium. These specialized in process technology. By taking over the production at these locations Van Rijn was able to further grow the business and to provide total solutions in various sectors, such as food processing, flowers, chemicals, vegetables, fruit and fisheries, both in the Netherlands and abroad. The fishing industry remained the primary focus and the machines found their way to many companies and more than a thousand cutters and trawlers. These ships were equipped with all kinds of fish processing equipment, from simple conveyor belts to complete processing decks with sorting installations, vacuum pumps and packing machines. However, the general food processing, flower, and fruit and vegetable industries became increasingly important.

1963 - 1979

Mr. van Rijn carried out minor repairs to fishing vessels and in those days also did a lot of small work with steel. The demand increased and the machines he developed and made were a great success. It was partly due to these machines that the fishing industry could develop further. Van Rijn benefited from strong growth in the fishing industry and gained a reputation in this sector.

1963

Machinefabriek Van Rijn was founded by Mr. van Rijn.
